Genjer has nothing to do with communist ideology. It was used for campaign by communist party in early 60, but it does not meant that the song was created to encourage any body to be communist. In fact, the lyric is satire of the condition at the time where many people had to eat genjer because nothing else were available.
The song itself is beautiful. You could sing as much as you want to remind us that we should avoid to have economic conditon like that again.
